I just wanted to say happy mother's day to all you mom's out there. Unfortunately my mom passed about 10 years ago. But I still have all the happy memories of her.
Her kindness to all she would meet in a day. Her comforting embrace when the world gets you down. The take no shit no matter who you think you are aditude.
Her medical knowledge no matter what made you sick or injured. Her protective instinct to go after anybody or anything at any time no matter how important you think you are.
Her ability to create a 5 course meal with only 3 ingredients found in any pantry. Her laughter when she caught you trying to cook but wearing more of the food than what was actually in the pots and pans.
Her tears when you disappointed her because you got caught with drugs in high school.
Then many years later your tears of joy when her dementia lifts for a split second and you see that sparkle in her eyes as she says "I love you, don't be a stranger" as your leaving her at the retirement home.
I'm sorry mom. I love you and I miss you. Every single second of every single day. I will make you proud some day.
